ALL ROADS LEAD TO ... AN OPEN TOMB
2013-03-01

tombrau_vide.jpgAs we are believers we cannot be faithful to Lent and pretend to ignore the end of the story: the death and Resurrection of Jesus. But the way to come to this conclusion can be renewed every year.  And it can be different for each person. We need only to reread the Easter Gospel. Three persons went to the tomb: Mary Magdelene, Simon Peter, and another disciple. Each of us, before the open tomb, comes to a personal conclusion. The answer is rooted in our personal experience with the life of Jesus.

In this year of Faith, proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI, the question is more pertinent than ever: who has Jesus become for us before He died? Taken away? Resurrected?  The answer implicates our whole being, that's why intellectual reflection is insufficient.  We must come back to what our life was at the different stages that created our faith, so that we can reclaim it. Then, we can come to the open tomb with a clear conscience. We can stand before the Person and commit ourselves in new freedom.
