ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD (continuation)
2012-12-01

old_orchard_020.jpgThe afternoon session began with our Emmaus walk. We look forward to this time of sharing our journey with a Sister, which might include what it is like to be an associate or the desire to be an associate. It is with delight and gratitude that each year we have a person or two attending our yearly retreat who are not associates. They have been invited "to come and see"

In the late afternoon, Sister Carole Jean Lappa and associate Jeanne Dube presented a reflective dialogue between Mother Elisabeth and the Angel. We heard the angel say to Elisabeth that ‘all things are possible with God'. The Angelus Bell rang at various times throughout the presentation marking the different periods of the Annunciation in Mother Elisabeth's Life..

The evening prayer was prepared by Sister Ann Boyle. She  led us in the Mysteries of the Rosary in the Life of Elisabeth Turgeon. A picture of Elisabeth Turgeon was circled by the Rosary and the twelve glowing candles enhanced the prayer room.

Sunday we brought our newly planted daffodils to the prayer space, as Mother Elizabeth looked on with eyes of love. We had a wonderful prayer and shared our reflections. We experienced a retreat of prayer, guided mediation, planting activity and a sharing of personal experiences.

One of our weekend prayers sums it up well.

Lord, we would grow with you
New shoots reaching out
Hands stretched upward
Like leaves newly formed
Soaking up your light and warmth
Lord, we would grow with you.

Lord we would grow with you
In sunshine and rain
In darkness and light
In cold days and summer days
From springtime to winter
Lord, we would grow with you.

Lord, we would grow with you
And bring forth fruit
That is pleasing to you
Fed by your living water
Giving sustenance to others
Lord, we would grow with you.
